FFS Friday!

FFS Friday riddle: What do couture and Wal-Mart have in common?

I'll give you a hint. Handbags.

At first glance, these purses seem....well, pretty plain, from a dude's point of view. Don't know what makes them so special.

But.....remember I did say that Wal-Mart was half of this equation.

Parlez vous FUCK YEAH.
Because drinking wine out of a box ain't classy enough, Vernissage Wines decided to throw some couture up in that bitch, by making the two buck chuck into a designer handbag. FFS.

Soop's Comment Fodder Question: Ladies.....if you saw your friend roll into the Bunco party, or whatever shit you gals do together, with this atrocity in tow, what would you say?

Musical MANday

I heard a song on the radio this weekend and it got me giggling. More on that in a second.

The song was by Jamie Foxx, and it brought back a memory. I used to work for a company that rented construction equipment to contractors. Once, we had a film shooting in my territory, and my awesome sales rep secured the deal, so we put a ton of equipment out at the location. I didn't get out in the field at all, but my rep and I worked pretty closely making sure this deal went smoothly from beginning to end. She ended up taking me for a visit to the location (which was AWESOME, and my first and only "Hollywood" experience).

And Arizona resembles the Middle East, apparently.

Anyways, we talked to some of the people on site, and one person, that had worked with Jamie Foxx before said, and I quote, "You better lock up your wives and daughters when he gets here". No smile, no nervous laugh. Dead serious.

Anyways, this song came on, and reminded me of the video. And this is why I laughed. Because, apparently, when going to a club, Mr. Foxx keeps some pimp ass company. Forest Whitaker? PIMP. Samuel L. Jackson? MEGAFUCKINGPIMP. Jake Gyllenhall? ....ok....maybe?

And then, the ultimate wingman. The biggest lady killer out there. The first person you should think of when you're asked "Who should you take to the nightclub to catch as much scattered ass as you can?"

OPIE MUTHAFUCKIN TAYLOR. That's right. Ron Howard is in the hizzouse, making it rain in the club. Apparently, even he's surprised, because at 00:46, he looks absolutely shocked that he is included in this video.

Well played Hype Williams. Well played.

'Memba Wen?

I was going to save this for a WTF entry, but this was eating away at my soul.

I remember when I was growing up, the "Just Say No" campaign was in full swing. I think everyone remembers the "This is your brain...." commercial(s).....

These are your brains over easy, with a side of toast.

A few other health warnings I noticed growing up were the pictures of blackened lungs to deter minors from smoking (although that didn't help in my case), and, during the beginning of the realization of AIDS, there were safe sex notices at every turn. One thing noticeably lacking, however, was the repercussions from alcohol abuse.

As a matter of fact, when Camel was in trouble for using Joe Camel to target children for thier cigarettes, I remembered the days of Spuds Mackenzie, the coolest drunk dog ever.

Before my heart attack, I drank very heavily. I call myself an alcoholic because....that's what I was. I still am an alcoholic because....you don't change what you were. I'm not an ex-smoker. I am a smoker. Just because I haven't had a cigarette in over a year doesn't mean that I am cured.

I have the occasional drinks now and then......within my new limits (most of the time). One thing I NEVER thought I would see, however, is a PSA targeted at condoning underage drinking....

Here it is. In all it's glory. I stumbled across this video this weekend, and it struck me dumb. Literally, I was just shocked that this was even allowed to be showed. The video is from the British Red Cross....and it's legit. I don't know how different their culture is over there, because I haven't had the pleasure of visiting, but if they tell their kids it's ok to go party, but just remember to roll your friends over.....I'm not sure I want to go.

Please.....tell me if I'm on the wrong track with this....I want to hear what you all think.
